Casual Side Events
With help from Catalyst, we just added a bunch more sessions for your casual gaming pleasure. Both of these events use the Total Warfare rules.
In a Grinder event you start with the lowest level mech with the most basic equipment. When you die you move up to the next level which contains mechs with slightly more advanced equipment. Through this progression you learn how to use all the common equipment in Battletech. This game is not paused or restarted at event breaks, we just add/remove players and collect tickets for those continuing then continue play without resetting the board or players continuing on into the next session. Sign-up for as many blocks as fit into your schedule (even if they are not contiguous), you will receive a report card as a way to sort of "save" your progress so you can come back later in the con and continue playing. All ability levels are welcome but if you have never played Battletech before it is recommended that you play Battletech Bootcamp first.
Check out all the Grinder Sessions here.
We have also added several sessions of another casual format called Raise Your Flag. A thrilling event that pits mech pilots against each other in a high-stakes competition for supremacy. Fight for your faction to ensure domination!
Did we mention we’ll have a giant inflatable Urban Mech too?
Sunday Urbie Derbie - Come on out and race your Urbie for its life! In this event, players will play through a variety of custom-built UrbanMechs around a race track filled with pitfalls, surprises, and special bonuses. Players score points for kills and special achievements, with the player with the highest score at the end of the event declared the winner. A love of the Urbie is not required but highly recommended. This event will use Total Warfare rules. Players should have at least a basic knowledge of these rules and related equipment. All miniatures, dice, and record sheets will be provided.

Narrative Events
We just added two unique narrative events, one Friday morning and one Saturday morning that both feature unique settings and special rules. All materials will be provided!
BattleTech Narrative Event: It’s a Pirates Life for me!
It’s late 3152, and a mercenary command has been recently hired by the owners of the Napa Tidal Research company to protect their supply lines on the planet Blue Hole. With the collapse of the Jade Falcon occupation zone, the area now referred to as the Hinterlands has become a hive of scum and villainy with pirates seeking booty becoming a problem. Join the battle at sea as either the pirates attempting to steal the cargo off the carrier or as the mercenaries defending the cargo and carrier! This will be a single scenario between the two forces using Total Warfare rules. Players should have at least a basic knowledge of these rules and equipment. All miniatures, dice, and record sheets will be provided.
BattleTech Narrative Event: Alpha Strike At the Cost of Bootlace
Event Description: By December 3151, Capellan Chancellor Daoshen Liao had reached the limits of his push towards Terra. Recovered from their victories over the Republic and Jade Falcons, ilKhan Alaric Ward and the rest of Clan Wolf are ready to strike back, starting with New Earth. After a week of combat, the Capellan force led by Warrior House Hiritsu and the ilClan Wolves found their original battle plans falling away. As each side looked for new options, both laid eyes upon a sleepy river crossing on the edge of the conflict area. They would meet for a final pitched battle. This will be a single scenario between the two forces using Alpha Strike rules. Players should have at least a basic knowledge of these rules and related units. All miniatures, dice, and record sheets will be provided.
